Intelligent Lighting Repair Technician

Job Description
We’re looking for an experienced electronics repair technician to join our service department.
Core responsibilities include diagnosis and repair of intelligent lighting fixtures and LED video products, troubleshooting customer equipment issues via phone and email, and assisting purchasing with sourcing electronic components required to restore products to proper working condition.

Position Requirements
We believe a great candidate will possess the following:
- A strong aptitude for problem solving and perseverance. You should be motivated and able to apply logic and creativity to defeat stubborn electronic issues.
- Proven ability to diagnose and repair electronic fixtures and systems used in the professional stage lighting industry, sometimes without full schematics or documentation.
- Ability to read and apply knowledge from manuals, datasheets, and technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety and proper handling of electronic equipment.
- Comfort using hand and power tools.
- Experience soldering through-hole and occasional SMT components.
- Ability to operate a digital multimeter and other electrical measurement tools to test AC and DC voltage, current, and resistance.
- Experience with DMX-controlled equipment preferred.
- Strong organizational skills in a dynamic bench environment.
- Effective communication skills for working with customers in person, by phone, and by email.
- Ability to lift equipment and assist with warehouse unloading when needed.
- Ability to stand for extended periods while working at a bench.
Ideally, You Also…
- Understand lighting control protocols such as ARTNET, RDM, KLINGNET, sACN, and DMX.
- Are motivated to continuously improve your technical skills.
- Hold an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in electronics, electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Have experience in small appliance or electronics service and repair.
- Understand embedded systems and firmware.
- Can navigate microcontroller programming tools.
- Are comfortable using help desk, RMA, and inventory management software.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree or 3 years of experience repairing small electronic systems.
